Recipe For Herbal Deodorants

Craft Featured By Herbalist Christine Blume On Sunday, Feb. 24

  • 1 ounce beeswax
  • 1 ounces cocoa butter
  • 1 ounce coconut oil (this is solid)
  • 1 ounce castor oil
  • 1 teaspoon grapefruit seed extract
  • 1 teaspoon tea tree essential oil
  • 2 teaspoon lavender or valencia orange essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary essential oil
  • 8 drops myrrh essential oil (optional)

Melt the oils and the beeswax in double boiler pan on top of stove. Or directly on stove top on very lowest heat setting. Remove from heat and add the essential oils and stir. Pour into a new or used deodorant container and allow to solidify.

Herbal Spray Deodorant

This is an herbal deodorant in spray form and you can use either vodka and water as the base or distilled witch hazel.

Begin with 2 ounces distilled water plus 2 ounces vodka OR use 4 ounces distilled witch hazel to whichever base you choose, add the following essential oils:

  • 1 teaspoon tea tree essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon lavender or valencia orange essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon grapefruit seed extract
  • 8 drops myrrh essential oil (optional)

You can get the essential oils at your local health food store
