DENVER -- AT&T Wireless denies it's to blame but the phone giant is proposing to give its customers credits and coupons.
That's because AT&T Wireless is accused of charging its customers a local tax even when the cell phone customer's billing address was outside the area where the tax was imposed.
Colorado customers were among those in 15 states where this happened. AT&T said the taxes were handed over to the local governments.
But it has tentatively agreed to settling a class action lawsuit.
If you're among the AT&T customers affected herein, you could get a $20 service credit or coupons for 30 percent off cell phone accessories.
A final decision on the settlement will come in Arapahoe County District Court in mid-April.
