'Cool Party Mom' Accused Of Giving Alcohol To Runaway Teens

Broomfield Mother Allegedly Partied With Kids

A Broomfield woman accused of providing alcohol to children has been arrested for the second time in a month.

Broomfield police said the first incident happened on March 10 when officers went to Amie Lynn Kresha's home in the 100 block of Coral Way in search of a 15-year-old boy whose mother had reported him as a runaway.

The boy's mother told police she thought her son might be at Kresha's house with Kresha's 16-year-old daughter.

Once at the house, police said they found the boy who told them he had been drinking vodka and other alcohol. The boy told officers Kresha had purchased and provided the alcohol to him. Police said the boy had a blood alcohol level of .111.

Kresha, 39, was arrested after officers found several other kids in the house who all said they had been partying at Kresha's home the night before.

"We found seven juveniles ranging from age 10 to 17 inside the house and we had reason to believe at least two of them had been drinking," said Sgt. Colleen O'Connell of the Broomfield Police Department.

Several of the kids told police Kresha had provided the alcohol after collecting money from them.

Kresha posted bond after being booked on charges of contributing to the delinquency of minors, punishable by up to eight years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

Then, on March 28, police said they arrested Kresha for a second time on similar charges after they went to her house in search of a 16-year-old runaway girl.

Police said they again found minors who were drinking the evening before including the same 15-year-old runaway who had been at Kresha's house on March 10. A teen girl told police Kresha had given them vodka.

The 16-year-old runaway's mother told the Broomfield Enterprise newspaper that Kresha seemed genuine, and that it wasn't until after the arrest that she heard stories of underage drinking, sex, possible drug use and filthy conditions at the house.

She told the paper, "This thing is way out of control. Apparently she befriends all these kids because she wants to be the cool party mom."

"What people don't realize is when you have juveniles in your house -- even if you're right there watching them -- if they are drinking, No. 1 that's a felony. It's illegal for that to happen," O'Connell said.

The two alcohol-related incidents were not the first times Kresha had been arrested. In February, she was arrested after allegedly taking one of her daughter's teenage friends to a tattoo parlor to get a tattoo on her lower abdomen, police said.

Police said the 15-year-old girl did not have parental permission to get the tattoo, so Kresha lied and told the tattoo artist she was the girl's mother.

Kresha was convicted April 11 of the charges in the tattoo incident and is currently serving a year in Broomfield jail for those charges. Police said the tattoo was of two 1911 Smith and Wesson pistol pointing to her groin area.

Broomfield police said the tattoo incident was in violation of the city's ordinance of impairing the morals of a child.

Kresha's neighbors said the reckless behavior had gone on for months.

"I quit letting my kids play with her kids about a year ago, and they're all about the same age," said neighbor Scott Pratt.

David Naugle said he has lived in the neighborhood for 44 years and said he has erected a fence in back because Kresha's yard is full of trash. He said he is now putting a fence up in his front yard to further divide the houses.

"No respect. The kids throw their pop bottles, cans and paper wraps -- when they get done they throw them down," Naugle said.

Kresha's next court appearance is scheduled for May 5.
