Webb's Grandson Discusses CU Rape Case
High School Recruit Changes Mind About Attending CU

DENVER -- Denver Mayor Wellington Webb's grandson admitted Wednesday that he was one of the recruits who attended a University of Colorado off-campus party where a college co-ed claimed she was gang raped.
Allen Webb (pictured, left) attends Chatfield High School and told 7SPORTS anchor Steve Gottsegen that he was interviewed by police and completely cleared of any involvement in the case.
Still, he told Gottsegen, he finds the allegations troubling.
He said he had committed to CU earlier but has since changed his mind. However, he said the alleged incident had nothing to do with his decision.
Webb said he was not aware of the alleged rape and doubts that it actually occurred.
Campus and Boulder police are investigating the woman's allegations that center around a party she helped host for high school football recruits on Dec. 7. A half-dozen CU players and about 15 recruits attended the party and alcohol was present, according to two witnesses who were there.
Dave Plati, the CU sports department spokesman, said the party
wasn't a sanctioned event for the recruits.
