When firefighters had first arrived on the scene near the 300 block of South Stuart in West Denver, flames were shooting out of the north side of the house threatening a nearby home, police said.

One suspect was arrested and one or two other suspects fled, 7NEWS reported. No one was hurt in the fire.

Once firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found evidence of a meth lab, and said that the chemicals could be the source of the fire, 7NEWS reported.

Daniel L. Frick, 47, was being held in Denver City jail, accused of manufacturing and possessing a controlled substance. The DFD arson unit will alo recommend the addition of the felony charge of fourth-degree arson.

The renter told police he didn't know that there was a meth lab in the home, but because he has outstanding warrants, police took him into custody, 7NEWS reported.
