DENVER -- Police broke up a possible pit bull breeding operation at a Denver home Friday night.Officers were called out to a house in the 1100 block of Rosemary Street when neighbors complained of suspicious activity at the home, police said.
When patrol officers knocked on the door, a man fled on foot out the back door, according to police. The suspect was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.When police searched the home they found 12 to 14 pitbull dogs, pictured left and right, in the home as well as narcotics and weapons, 7NEWS reported.
Police said Saturday they believe a pit bull ring was being run out of the home.The dogs were all taken into police custody and were being cared for at the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter.The name of the suspect arrested was not released.It is illegal to own a pit bull in Denver.
