An investigation into a rape that was allegedly committed on a University of Colorado student during a party with several football players will likely gain momentum now that classes are back in session.

A female student said she was attacked Dec. 7 during an off-campus party with a half-dozen CU football players and 15 high school recruits.

Detectives will now be able to finish collecting DNA samples and complete their interviews as students return to class.

Boulder police and campus police are working together on the case. So far, no one has been arrested or named as a suspect.

Police plan to travel to California, where five of the football recruits live.

U police Lt. Tim McGraw said officers have kept in contact with the woman who reported she was raped. He said she has not wavered or recanted any of her statements.
