Jury Considers Case Against Former Priest

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A jury in Fort Collins has now been handed the case against a former Roman Catholic priest accused of alleged sexual abuse of parishioners.A second man who said he was molested by Timothy Joseph Evans also testified about the alleged abuse during the trial.Monsignor Thomas Fryar, the priest in charge of the Catholic Church's Denver central offices, said he reported three incidents of alleged misconduct by Evans against minors between March 2003 and April 2004 to police.
Evans' lawyer said the allegations are false and the result of anger. Next month, Evans will face similar charges in Jefferson County in a separate case. He was removed from parish ministry in 2002, and his priestly faculties were removed in 2003.
