EDGEWATER, Colo. -- Edgewater police say a man who asked a 6-year old girl to walk over to his car committed no crime.Police took the driver in for questioning Wednesday night after he showed up to the same location where the "suspicious" incident occured 24 hours before.Surveillance video from a liquor store across the street showed a maroon four-door Oldsmobile pulling up to the 5200 block of West 25th Avenue Tuesday night. There were three men inside.
Two of the men got out of the vehicle and walked away in different directions. The driver stayed in the car for some time. Several adults walked by and nothing happened. However, as a girl came outside to sweep the sidewalk with a toy broom, the man is seen opening his door and talking to her. According to police, he told her, "Come here. I want to talk to you."An adult who saw the exchange told the girl to get back inside the store. On Wednesday night, the same car returned to the same liquor store. Police made contact with two men inside in the car. They say they're satisfied that no crime occured. They did arrest the driver on an unrelated traffic warrant.
