A 78-Year-old man walked away from his home in the Highlands Ranch area and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is searching for him.

Family said that Roger Matoon was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia. Because of his health, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office put out a reverse 911 call to over 1,000 homes in the area. They hope someone in the area has seen Matoon.

Search and Rescue volunteers also checked a large area around University and Wild Cat Reserve. Matoon was last seen at 10:00 a.m., Monday, in the 4900 Block of Fenwood Drive. He is most likely on foot, though deputies are checking with RTD buses in the area.

He is has gray hair and blue eyes. He is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. When Matoon was last seen he was wearing a blue jacket, brown pants, and black Velcro type shoes.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office asks anyone who has seen him to call 303-660-7500.
