Missing Man With Cerebral Palsy Found

Authorities Say When He Is Angry, He Will Keep Walking 'Until He Drops'

POSTED: 11:44 a.m. MST December 11, 2001
UPDATED: 12:21 p.m. MST December 12, 2001

A man with cerebral palsy who was missing from Boulder Monday night was found Tuesday afternoon.

David Graham

David T. Graham (pictured, left), 31, walked into the U.S. Forest Service office at 28th Street and Yarmouth Avenue in Boulder at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He apparently had spent the night with a friend, and had been walking since this morning, police said.

Graham disappeared from his group home at about 7:20 p.m. Monday.

He was described as having a slight speech impediment, slightly cross-eyed and walking on his toes. He is intelligent, but his developmental disability affects his emotions, authorities said.

When he is angry, he has a history of walking until he drops, police said.

Graham first left the group home on Monday sometime between 4 and 7 p.m. A guard with Rocky Flats Security found him with minor frostbite on his hands. His mother picked him up and returned him to his home at 7 p.m.

He then got into a verbal argument with his mother and left the home around 7:20 p.m., police said.
