COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- Two Adams City High School students were hurt Friday morning when they ran across a road and were struck by a pickup truck. The victims, a 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, were taken to local area hospitals by ambulance. Their conditions were not released but Commerce City police said their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.The teens had stepped off a Regional Transportation District bus and ran across east 72nd Avenue midblock, police said.
Investigators determined that the 55-year-old driver of the Ford F150 was not at fault because the teens were not in a designated crosswalk, police said.
