 SURVEY
Do you think the two parents who gave up their daughter under the "Save Haven" law should be able to get the baby back?
Absolutely. It's their child.
No, not if they already gave it up.
It depends on the circumstances.

7NEWS talked with the 18-year-old mother last Friday and reported that she had changed her mind about giving up the infant for adoption.

The parents, both college students, left the infant at an Aurora hospital last week because they said they were not able to care for the child They were not charged with a crime because they followed the "Safe Haven" law, which allows parents of newborns to leave them with hospital or other medical personnel.

Jasmine was released from the hospital Saturday and was placed with a foster family, hospital officials said. Her parents have visitation rights, which are expected to continue at least until the family court judge makes a final decision on the the baby's future.
