DENVER -- Although it is kind of hard to get into a fight with streets rutted with snow, plenty of Denverites are fed up. "It melts and then it freezes again. (We're) just trying to get rid of it, it's kind of a pain," motorist Charlie Meier said. Ted Walker, a business owner, said the city should come in and use dynamite if they have to.
The city said that even with all its crews working it may not get to all the streets. Denver Public Works worked on 100 to 200 blocks a day using more than 100 pieces of heavy equipment. While some streets remain in terrible shape, some people can still find humor with all the ice."It's like four wheeling. It's bumpy -- like a roller coaster," said one Denver resident.Another concern for road crews is trying to scrape off the ice in the frigid temperatures. They said it can end up damaging the pavement.
