United, Frontier Cancel Some Flights At DIA
Airlines Issue Travel Waivers For Coming Storm

DENVER -- United and Frontier -- two major airlines serving Denver International Airport -- began proactively canceling flights as a new winter storm moved into the area Thursday.By 3 p.m. Thursday Frontier cancelled 60 flights from 6 p.m. to midnight. United cancelled 120 flights from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. United has also cancelled some flights from 6 a.m. Friday until noon.United Airlines has issued a travel waiver for customers flying through DIA from now through Dec. 30.
If you have flight plans through Saturday and would like to change them to avoid the expected storm on Thursday, United will waive all fees for making changes.Customers should call United at 1-800-UNITED-1 or go to www.united.com to make the changes.Travel Tips From UnitedUnited encourages all customers flying in, out or through Denver tomorrow and Friday to consider departing Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.United’s lobby at DIA will open at 2:00 a.m. Thursdayto accommodate a higher volume of customers.Check your flight status before heading to the airport.Check in for your flight with EasyCheck-in Online then use united.com BagCheck at the airport.According to United, the ticket waiver is available for customers traveling to/from and through Colorado. These revised policies apply to all tickets purchased December 27, 2006, or earlier. Original travel dates must be between Dec. 20, 2006 - Dec. 30, 2006, to/from and through Colorado on any United, United Express, Ted or United code-share flight. Origin and destination cities must remain the same.Customers with already canceled flights are eligible to apply for a full refund.All changes must be made by midnight of the customer's original travel date. Customers may make these changes by contacting whomever made their travel reservation, or by calling United Reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1.
Frontier Outlines Travel Guidelines
In order to better serve its customers and due to the forecasted weather in the Denver area, Frontier Airlines has enacted the following guidelines for travel to/from or via Denver for all passengers scheduled to travel on Dec. 28 or 29, 2006. Frontier also strongly encourages its customers to check their flight status before heading to the airport. The following guidelines apply for passengers who purchased their tickets on or before Dec. 27, 2006.For passengers en route or currently traveling:Rules and restrictions regarding standard change fees, advance purchase, day or time applications, blackouts, and minimum or maximum stay requirements have been waived. Origin and destination cities must remain the same. Changes must be made by Dec. 30, 2006, and travel completed by Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007. Customers currently en route who are scheduled to fly on Dec. 28 or 29 may confirm on Dec. 27 or 28 for no fee, providing seats are available.For customers who have not begun travel: You may make one change to your travel plans without change fees or advance purchase requirement for the same itinerary providing travel is complete by Jan. 11, 2006. Beyond that date additional fares may apply. For a new itinerary, you may make one change without change fees. All rescheduled travel may be subject to higher fares if it does not meet original rule and restrictions or is a new itinerary.
