Police Concerned About Missing Air Force Nurse

Dotson Stationed In San Antonio

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has issued an alert for a missing Air Force nurse who hasn't been seen or heard from since Sunday.

Nonnie Dotson, 33, left her brother's house in the 9500 block of West Unser Avenue in Jefferson County to go shopping, but she never returned. That was 11 a.m. on Nov. 19. Her 16-month-old baby was left behind with her brother's family.

Dotson works as nurse at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. She arrived in Denver on Nov. 16 to visit her family and was to report back to duty on Tuesday, but she has not shown up at the base, officials said.

Dotson, a first lieutenant, is scheduled to be released from her military commitment in March. She has been stationed at the Texas base since 2004 and is assigned to the 59th Medical Wing. She is not considered AWOL, an Air Force spokesman said. The Air Force is reviewing her status based on Jefferson County's investigation.

Her scheduled leave was from Nov. 13 to Nov 20.

She was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, a white T-shirt and black jeans. Officials said there are many signs of stability in her life so it's not likely she ran away. She is the mother of a 16-month-old girl and recently bought a home, officials said.

Authorities said nothing in the case points to foul play but nothing points to desertion neither. Her credit card records show no activity, and a review of her cell phone records and bank records has not turned up anything suspicious, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

Anyone with information about Dotson is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tipline at 303-271-5612.
