Find A Carpool Match In A Cinch

Web Site Matches You With Other Carpoolers Along Your Route

Looking for a cheap way to get to work? A new Web site is providing a high-tech way to hitch a ride and that could really come in handy as T-Rex creates hassles all over Colorado roadways.

Carpooling is just one way to save money and frustration and the new government site is making it easier than ever to find someone to share your ride.

The Web site is run by the Denver Regional Council of Governments and it's simple to use. To register, select a username and type in where you live and work and the hours that you are at the office.

The site will then list people who match your carpool needs and who are looking for a carpool partner. It will post their names, work addresses and contact numbers, so you can call them. But take note: although the site won't post home addresses, it will release your home phone number, so we suggest that you put in your work number or an e-mail address as a way for a potential match to contact you.

The site also lists the closest Park and Ride locations and bike routes along the way.

Officials already have about 2,000 people in their database, but hope to have more as they spread the word.
