The fate of a man on trial for the July 4, 2004, killing of Gregory Vann, will soon be in the hands of a jury.

Closing arguments are expected to take place Wednesday in the trial of Robert Keith Ray.

Ray is accused of being the person who drove the getaway car in the shooting and killing of Vann at Lowry Park in Aurora. He is charged with being an accessory to Vann's murder.

Ray's alleged accomplice, Sir Mario Owens, is accused of killing Vann and injuring Javad Marshall-Fields who was shot and killed one year later with his fiancée, Vivian Wolfe. The two were gunned down in their car at an Aurora intersection June 20, 2005.

Owens is scheduled to go on trial for Vann's killing in January.

Marshall-Fields witnessed Vann's murder and identified Ray as the driver of the getaway car. Marshall-Fields was to be a key witness at Ray's trial. He told his family he had been threatened prior to the trial. He was killed before he could testify.

Owens, Ray and Parish Carter were charged in connection with the killing of Marshall-Fields and Wolfe.
