'FREE' Dog Reunited With Owner

Dog Apparently Abused By Someone Else, Police Say

Police in Aspen have located the owner of a Jack Russell terrier that had been wandering through the city with the word "FREE" written on its side.

The owner told police that his dog escaped from his vehicle and had not been seen since.

Investigators speculate that someone else caught the loose dog and wrote the word FREE in permanent black marker and then let it go again.

The dog's owner, who was not identified, has been reunited his pet.

There was speculation that the dog could have belonged to a Weld County man who is also missing a Jack Russell terrier, but that was not the case.
