An historic Aspen area cabin is for sale, but the winning bidder will have to figure out a way to move the home.
The city of Aspen is selling the cabin that was once part of the Deep Powder Lodge on Aspen Street. It was built circa late 1940s/early 1950s. The cabin is approximately 510 square feet.
The last bidder offered to pay $661 for the cabin, but backed out of the deal.

The cabin was moved from its original site to the base of Willoughby Park in Aspen. The new owner is responsible for moving it to a new location or paying a storage fee of $25 per day after June 1.
However, moving the cabin down Highway 82 will require CDOT permission and special permits. That cost will most likely be in excess of $10,000, officials said.
The most cost-effective way to move the cabin is to take it apart.
The auction ends Tuesday at 1 p.m.
