Denver Nuggets (10-4) At Minnesota Timberwolves (1-13), 8 P.M.

(Sports Network) - Wins have been hard to come by this season for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who will commence a brief homestand tonight versus the Northwest Division-rival Denver Nuggets at the Target Center.

Since winning their season opener versus New Jersey on October 28, the Timberwolves have lost 13 in a row to match the worst 14-game start in franchise history (1994-95). In a 91-87 loss at the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, Al Jefferson had 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead Minnesota, which is three defeats away from equaling the longest single-season skid set during the 1992 campaign.

"We tried to do too much on our own and that's when we get into trouble," said Minnesota head coach Kurt Rambis. "It's youth and inexperience. They want to do too much."

The 'Wolves will also host Phoenix on the residency before taking a trip to the Rocky Mountains for a re-match with the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

The Northwest Division-leading Nuggets have won two in a row and four of five games to improve to 10-4 this season. NBA leading scorer Carmelo Anthony registered 27 points, six rebounds and four assists in Tuesday's 101-87 victory over the winless New Jersey Nets, and is the only player in the league to record at least 20 points in every contest this season.

Arron Afflalo netted 15 points and J.R. Smith ended with 13, as the Nuggets posted their 16th straight home triumph dating back to last season.

"Our focus is much different. We had a lot of focus last year but this year we have more focus on taking care of our home court. This is a place where it can be real good to us," Anthony said after the Nuggets improved to 6-0 at home.

Denver swept a four-game series from Minnesota a season ago and has won the last nine meetings. The Nuggets are 12-2 in the last 14 matchups in the series and are unbeaten in their last four trips to the Target Center.
