Diedre Pai loves spending time with her 3-month-old daughter, Nadia. She makes her laugh. She makes her smile. But with all the joy comes the challenge of staying fit and energized for herself.

"I wasn't prepared for how tired I was going to be," said Pai.

Pai was exhausted. With little sleep and no energy, it was hard to get motivated to exercise. Pai found help through MaMa Mojo Fitness. A local mom started this service to help new moms stay motivated, stay active, and stay focused on themselves first.

"It's 10 minutes of walking, just getting out the door. You can carry the baby, pushing him or her in a stroller," said founder of MaMa Mojo Fitness, Lea Stenverson.

Stenverson said the key is to work your way back slowly. In fact, she showed Pai how doing crunches with little Nadia on her stomach helps.

"With the baby it adds a little bit more resistance too," said Stenerson.

"She really understood that I didn't have an hour to work out. There are days no workout is possible because she's fussy. She's taught me how to do squats while I'm holding her," said Pai.

Within a few weeks, Pai said she felt a difference in her appearance, confidence, and energy.

"One thing that taking better of myself has taught me is that I'm able to be a better mom when I am taking care of myself," said Pai.

"If you can do a little bit a few days a week. A little bit five days a week. A little bit every day and soon enough you'll see some progress," said Stenerson.
