It's April, the month many of us head out to buy spring clothing, patio furniture and other outdoor items, especially after 2013's unusually cold March in much of the country.
Unfortunately, the things you want most this month can also be the worst deals if you are looking to save money, John Matarese with WCPO.com reported.
The website DealNews.com has just listed the best and worst things to buy in April.
- Things to Buy Now:
DealNews suggests looking at spring clothing, believe it or not, and tablet computers, especially the iPad and Kindle Fire. It says Amazon has cut the price of the Kindle Fire HD to $269, with price cuts on other models too.
And it says look for markdowns on Apple's iPad, with a new model coming soon.
The report also says you will start to find spring clothing markdowns this month, since it has now been in stores for two full months, and hasn't sold well because of the continued cool March weather.
- Don't Buy Just Yet
DealNews says April is the worst month to find a deal on patio furniture or barbecue grills.
Everyone wants those items now, so they are at full price at most stores.
Big markdowns begin on the Fourth of July, if you can hold onto your old set until then. You should see sales starting in May.
DealNews also says wait till May to purchase a new bed or mattress if you can: The big Presidents' Day mattress sales will return for a second round on Memorial Day weekend.
And that way you don't waste your money.
