BOULDER - Visitors at the National Center for Atmospheric Research now have a new exhibit to see that is devoted entirely to weather.

The Weather Gallery at NCAR opened its doors to the public on October 10 after months of construction.

This free exhibit offers visitors a variety of interactive weather displays ranging from severe storms to blizzards to climate change. A self-guided 5-part display includes several multimedia components.

Visitors are greeted by a cloud generator that enables an opportunity to touch a cloud. Another highlight is a glass-enclosed controlled environment which shows the wind's interaction with landscape.

The popular tornado simulator is also included in the exhibit.

NCAR sees over 70,000 visitors each year. Admission is free of charge and tours are offered at various times during the week.
