Internet juggernaut Amazon.com says it will make thousands of digital books available cheaply or for free on Kindle to customers who previously purchased paper copies.
They are calling the new service "MatchBook," and say it will launch in October.
The website brags that "for thousands of qualifying books, your past, present, and future print-edition purchases will soon allow you to buy the Kindle edition for $2.99, $1.99, $0.99, or free."
The service will include titles sold by Amazon since it opened in 1995.
Authors listed in the preview of the MatchBook include Wally Lamb, John Irving, Michael Crichton, James Rollins, Ray Bradbury, Neil Gaiman, Jodi Picoult and Neal Stephenson.
