Denver's 7 wants to help you protect your identity by giving you an easy way to get rid of documents with personal information.

On Thursday, March 10, bring your boxes of documents to the Denver's 7 studios between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the second annual Get The Shred Out event.

Crews from 7NEWS, the Better Business Bureau and the Postal Inspector's Office will take your boxes and make sure your items are destroyed in the mega shredder.

Experts say unless you work from home, you can shred your old utility bills, bank statements, anything with your name and address including junk mail.

Last year, we shredded more than 125,000 pounds of sensitive materials. That's 20 trucks worth of paper.

The Denver's 7 studios are at 123 Speer Boulevard on the corner of Lincoln Street, Speer Boulevard and Sherman Street. Please enter from Sherman Street. (Get directions to the 7NEWS studios.)

We will take a maximum of five boxes per car.

To line up for our visitors lot, you'll have to line up via 7th Avenue to Sherman.
