DENVER - If you made a New Year's resolution to workout, here's some encouragement: You could earn cash for working out and losing weight.
The Weigh and Win program pays you every 90 days for losing weight and keeping it off. Signing up is free. Lose five percent of your body fat, get $15. Lose 10 percent of your body fat, get $30. However, the offer is only available to people who start at an unhealthy weight, meaning a BMI of 25 of greater.
The program is funded by Kaiser Permanente, but it's available to all Coloradans ages 18 and older. Participants can sign up online, but they have to go to a kiosk quarterly for photographed weigh-ins. Learn more here.
If you own a fitbit, you can get money from Walgreens for putting on the miles.
Walgreens is offering its Balance Rewards members 20 points for every mile they walk or run if they wear a fitbit. You can also earn 20 points per daily weigh-in. Earn 5,000 points, get $5. That means you have to walk 250 miles to get $5, but it's better than getting nothing. Learn more on Walgreens website.
