Pokémon GO players get a $5 discount at the Denver Zoo on afternoons this weekend.
Show your Pokémon GO app at guest services from 1 p.m. to close on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 22-24) to get the special offer.
Pokémon GO is an app for smartphones. Using the app and a cell phone's camera, players walk around to find virtual Pokémon characters.
The Denver Zoo says it will host Pokémon lures from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, in addition to their regular Poké stops and training gym.
And while the game makes players watch their cell phones as they walk, the zoo says it will encourage players to enjoy nature while at the zoo.
“Although we are so happy to host Pokémon GO guests, we encourage them to enjoy nature while visiting the Zoo,” says Stephanie Stowell, Denver Zoo’s Vice President of Learning Experiences. “We want guests to also take a break from their phone and enjoy the beauty of the real-life animals Denver Zoo has to offer.”
