Debbie's Deals: 2015 free admission days at local museums and Denver Zoo

DENVER - Each year, the Denver Zoo, the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and other local museums offer free admission on certain days. Here is the list for 2015.

*Note, this list was created by visiting the SCFD's website and the various museum websites. Please double check that the free day is still on the schedule before you go. Thanks!

Hudson Gardens now offers free admission to its gardens every day. There is a fee for special events and concerts.

Free admission days at the Denver Zoo, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Denver Art Museum, Molly Brown Museum, the Denver Firefighter Museum, the Clyfford Still Museum, the Colorado Railroad Museum, the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Children's Museum of Denver, Four Mile Historic Park and the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield have ended for the year.

The free days are funded, in part, by the citizens of the metro area via the Science and Cultural Facilities District's 0.1% sales and use tax. Other free admission days are sponsored by Target.

While the Butterfly Pavilion doesn't offer free admission days, it does off $5 admission days. In 2015, the $5 days have ended, but the Butterfly Pavilion has a $1 off coupon on its website.

If you have a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit card or debit card, you can visit museums across the country for free on the first full weekend of the month. In Colorado, the History Colorado Museum participates in this program.
