About 852 flights out of Denver International Airport were canceled for Saturday, as a storm system moves in across the state of Colorado. That amounts to about 71 percent of daily air traffic at DIA, according to a spokesperson.

Despite nearly a quarter of air traffic shut down, most of the airlines are planning to operate a full schedule on Sunday, the DIA spokesperson said.

Several airlines had already started to prepare for the weather event on Thursday, by offering waivers and allowing travelers to reschedule their flights in case of possible delays and flight cancelations this weekend.
