Colorado unemployment rate continues to drop, falling to 6.9 percent

DENVER - Colorado's unemployment rate continued to drop in April, falling to 6.9 percent from March's 7.1 percent.
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment said Friday the state added 11,600 nonfarm payroll jobs from March to April, for a total of 2.3 million jobs, according to a statewide survey of businesses.
Private sector jobs increased 11,600 and government jobs remained unchanged.
Colorado added 11,000 jobs between January and February, and 500 jobs from February to March.
