DENVER - Huge crowds packed three Trader Joe's stores that opened in Colorado Friday morning.
The stores are in Boulder, Denver and Greenwood Village.
The Boulder location, at 1906 28th Street, will be about 14,000-square feet.
Trader Joe's said the new store "will feature a festive decor that mixes traditional Trader Joe's elements such as cedar covered walls and Hawaiian motifs, combined with a local flair that includes art celebrating the neighborhood."
The Denver location on Colorado Blvd. and 8th Avenue is about 14,000-square feet and features a 3,740-square-foot separate wine shop adjacent to the grocery store.
The Greenwood Village location will be slightly smaller. It's located in the Cherry Hills Marketplace on S. University Blvd. at East Orchard Road.
The Denver Business Journal reported that locations are in the works in Denver at Seventh Avenue and Logan Street and in Fort Collins.
