DENVER - Loveland Ski Area plans to open for the 2012-13 season on Tuesday.
The ski resort made the announcement Sunday. Lifts will start running at 9 a.m., said spokesman Dustin Schaefer.
"Our snowmakers have done a great job getting the run ready with great coverage from top to bottom," Schaefer said in a news release.
Arapahoe Basin opened last week on Wednesday winning the competitive yet friendly battle to be the first ski resort open in Colorado.
Loveland holds the earliest opening record on Oct. 7, 2009. It also has the most "first" victories (five and one tie), reported the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
