If you know about eBay and Amazon, you know at least something about shopping on the Internet. But how do you know when new bargains pop up as they do from day to day? You can get good buys with a little help from your friends, said Consumer Champ Bill Clarke.

DealTaker.com operates on the principal that the more people are looking, the more bargains are showing. Using a network of bargain shoppers -- people who are registered with the Web site -- DealTaker lists new deals from established businesses everyday.

If you're looking for a new waffle maker, for example, you can find it on Amazon for 59 percent off the retail price. Many deals listed on the site are for household goods or are computer related.

Alot of what Clarke saw was being sold on Amazon and sometimes the deals come and go quickly. You snooze, you lose. When he checked Sunday's $30 deal for the Le Creuset Stockpt on Monday, we were bumped to Amazon, where it was selling for $70.

DealTaker.com is a link to the actual sellers and relies on volunteers to spot the bargains and check them out. Some of the vendors are big companies and others are names you've probably never heard of. Bargains abound, but buyere beware. Shopping online can always be a gamble.

In an effort to help others, DealTaker has decided to support the fight against breast cancer. The site donates a percentage of all gross proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
