You might have to pay more money, if you shop at Park Meadows in the future.
The Regional Transportation District is considering annexing the mall (pictured, left) into the district.
A public hearing will be held Feb. 10 to discuss the change. If approved, shoppers at Park Meadows would pay a 0.6 percent increase in sales tax to secure RTD service to the mall. That would add up to an extra $2 million for RTD to pay for light rail and bus services. If approved, the tax wouldn't go into effect until July 1 and would raise the current tax from 4 percent to 4.6 percent.
