DENVER -- It's time to make your reservations for Denver Restaurant Week. In 2011, Restaurant Week will once again last two weeks from Feb. 26-March 11.What's so great about Restaurant Week? Diners get two multi-course dinners for $52.80 from some of the area's best restaurants. While $52.80 isn't cheap (don't forget to add tax and tip to that), it is a chance to save on a meal a a fancy restaurant.The participants for 2011 include Denver hotspots, landmarks and even a couple chain restaurants.
Diners visiting Elway's Cherry Creek can enjoy a four course meal. For the first course, diners will choose from charred red pepper soup, a Caesar salad or house salad. For the second course, the options are a 10-oz prime sirloin, 10-oz prime rib, organic-sustainable farm-raised salmon or half of a roasted chicken. For the third course, the options are side dishes like Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, creamed corn or sauteed broccoli. And everyone enjoys dessert of brownie and cheesecake lollipops.If you haven't eaten at the Aquarium restaurant at the Downtown Aquarium in Denver, here's your chance. The Aquarium is offering a three-course meal starting with an appetizer to share or a salad for each dinner. For the second course, diners can choose from top sirloin and shrimp, grilled chicken pasta, seafood cannelloni or citrus pico tilapia. For dessert, diners each choose from creme brulee or chocolate wrapped mascarpone cheesecake.If you want to spice up your night, you might want to try the Bombay Clay Oven. Diners there can enjoy a casual dinner or a romantic candlelit evening in Bombay's divan seating alcoves. You'll take off your shoes and lounge on cushions and pillows behind sheer curtains. For the first course, choose from tomato cilantro soup or Mulligatawny lentil soup. For the second course, try chicken pakora or potato vada. For the third course, diners can pick Bombay's best combination (chicken tikka masala, lamb rack, vegetable kadai, basmati rice and Naan bread) or Bombay's vegetarian combination (Saag Paneer, Malai Kofta, vegetable kadai, basmati rice and Naan bread).One of the new restaurants on the week is Aria restaurant, a companion restaurant to the acclaimed Opus in Littleton. Aria said it offers creative but approachable cuisine in a modern setting. For restaurant week diners will enjoy a three course meal. The first course features a mixed green salad or Lambs' bacon and potato soup. For the second course, there's mustard roasted heritage pork loin with Brussels sprouts or citrus poached Scottish Salmon with spaghetti squash and buttermilk potatoes. For dessert, diners will chose from a Granny Smith apple tart or chocolate chip cookie spring rolls.If you've always wanted to try the Denver ChopHouse and Brewery, restaurant week visitors get a three course meal. For the first course choose from tempura shrimp in a buffalo sauce or split pea and ham soup. For the second course, diners can enjoy two 4-oz. beef medallions or sauteed halibut.
