DENVER -- Colorado's universities have a way for kids to get involved in athletics years before they are students.

The Junior Ram Club at Colorado State University in Fort Collins may be the best deal.

For $25, kids 12 and younger get a series of benefits including free admission to all home football games, home volleyball games, home men's basketball games and home women's basketball games for the first 200 JRC members. The kids also get to make a tunnel for the team to run through at one football game and a basketball game each year.

The kids get invitations to Junior Ram Club parties and more. The Junior Ram Club Web site says it's a $200 value for $25. If you have more than one child, the additional children can sign up for $20.

The University of Colorado, Boulder, has Ralphie's Kids Roundup.

Up to 1,000 children 13 and under get tickets to four home football games. The tickets are made possible by donors, so it doesn't appear that there is any cost to request the tickets. The Ralphie's Kids football games have ended for the year, but CU fans should put a note on their calendars to check this out next year. It appears from the order form that most of the tickets go to groups. Children not a part of an organized group can be put on a waitlist if there are extra tickets.
