DENVER -- Have you visited the Denver Aquarium lately?

If you've been concerned about the price of taking the family, the Denver Aquarium is still offering "Family Friday Nights." The offer started as a short term deal last fall, but it's been extended, possibly until the end of the summer 2010.

General Manager A Scot Hulgan told me kids meals are $1.99 on Friday nights after 5 p.m. when you buy an adult meal (normally $5.99-$6.99) and kids get into the aquarium for $5 instead of $9.25.

There's also free face painting for the kids, animal interactions, shows and activities.

And there's a discount for adults too. If you eat in the restaurant after 5 p.m., adults get a discounted admission for the aquarium, $11.95 instead of $14.95. And if you eat at the restaurant you get free parking. If you're curious, here's the information about the deal.

(One note, one of my readers, Cheryl, was told the discount coupons weren't valid until 6 p.m. even though the ad says Family Fridays nights start at 5 p.m.)

There's one more deal we took advantage of this summer, the 4D-theater value ticket. A single ticket to the 4D theater is $5.25, but the value ticket is $4.95 and includes TWO tickets for the 4D-theater, stingray fish food AND your choice of a coconut tree climb, face painting or a small soda. That's $15 value for $4.95.

The aquarium is open until 9:30 p.m. on Friday nights.
