Debbie's Deals: Free Groceries

Thrifty Shoppers Pair Coupons With Sales

UPDATED: 8:07 am MDT April 28, 2009

I like to think I'm pretty good with coupons. I cut coupons out of the Sunday paper each week and put them in my glove box so I have them when I go shopping. I save a few bucks here and there.

But there are some coupon experts out there who scour the papers to get items for free.

Like CouponCravings.com. It lists the following deals for Target. You'll also need this link for Target's printable coupons.

Apples: buy 1 lb at $.99/lb
Use $1/1 Target printable coupon
Final Price = FREE

Dry Idea Deodorant: $2
Use $2/1 printable coupon
Final Price = FREE

Kraft Salad Dressing: buy 2 at $1.59 each
Use 2 $1.50/1 coupons from 3/29 Smart Source insert
Use $1/2 Target printable coupon
Final Price = FREE plus possible overage

Lysol Sanitizing Spray: $1.69
Use $2/1 coupon from 3/15 Smart Source insert
Final Price = FREE plus possible overage

Quaker Granola Bites: $1
Use $1/1 coupon from 3/29 Red Plum insert
Final Price = FREE

Vitamin Water: $1
Use $1/1 coupon from 4/5 Smart Source insert
Final Price = FREE

The lesson here? Make sure you save your coupon inserts from week to week because the best deal may be to wait for a sale.

If you shop at Rite-Aid, Money Saving Mom.com is the Web site for you today. Here are some of the deals she found:

Mini Drops Eye Therapy--$6.49
Use $1/1 printable coupon
Get $6.49 Single Check Rebate
Free plus overage after coupon and Single Check Rebate

Skintimate Shave Cream--$2.99
Use $0.75/1 or $1/1 from the 4/26 RedPlum insert
Get $2.24 Single Check Rebate
Free plus possible overage after coupon and Single Check Rebate

And she found a coupon good until Thursday where you get $5 off when you spend $25 at Rite-Aid.

I look at about two dozen of these type of blogs every day to find good deals, but I normally don't do the weekly roundup of store/grocery deals. Check out the Be Sensible blog for a list of what bloggers watch for deals at your favorite store and bookmark the Web sites. One note: some of the deals are regional and may not be available here.

If you see a deal, let me know! E-mail me -- Deb Stanley -- at (Deb_Stanley@kmgh.com).
