DENVER -- It's time for more freebies and samples.

Let's start with trash. Sam's Club is offering to mail you a free sample of Glad's ForceFlex trash bags. When you sign-up, you'll be asked for your membership numbers, it's optional. I don't have one. When they ask for your birthday, don't give your real one. For security purposes, give a date that is one or two days different and one or two years different than your real birthday.

How about a free sample of dog food? Walmart is offering a free sample of dog food by Rachel Ray's Nutrish company. Visit Walmart's Web site and click on the very small button that says "get a free sample." After I filled out the form, it said the sample should arrive in four weeks.

Walmart's sample Web site this week also offers free samples of Zyrtec, Jergen's Moisturizer and Gain detergent.

Proctor & Gamble has its own sample Web site. Right now if you sign up, you get a free 10 ml. sample of Head & Shoulders shampoo. The Web site promises if you sign up, you'll also get coupons and other items. I don't know if it's worth it, but I figure I can always remove myself from the mailing list if I don't like what I get.

Have you tried Emergen-C yet? Emergen-C is a Vitamin C powder you mix into your water. The company is offering a free sample of its new Berry Blue flavor. I don't make any promises the powder will keep you from getting sick, but here's a way to try it out for yourself.

And I even found an offer for free headbands. A company called Vix is offering a 20 percent off coupon for its online store and a free set of complimentary headbands if you sign up.
