Debbie's Deals: Cheap Tax Prep, Free Financial Advice

UPDATED: 4:00 pm MDT March 24, 2009

I don't have to tell you it's tax time.

While some of you may be done with your taxes, I have help for those of you who are not.

Liberty Tax Service is holding a fundraiser this Friday, March 27. NEW customers visiting the company's 51 Colorado locations can get their tax preparation done for free, just by making a minimum $50 donation to the March of Dimes.

Normal preparation fees start at $100. If you have a 1040 form with a schedule or two, you'd likely pay $250 or more.

That means customers getting their taxes get a good deal and help Colorado moms and babies at the same time. The entire donation goes to the March of Dimes to help fund programs like services for pregnant women and research to prevent baby health problems including prematurity.

For details, visit the March of Dimes Web site.
