I know I've been covering a lot of food deals on Debbie's Deals. Today, I want try something completely different: a deal on prom dresses.

For the past nine years, a group in Jefferson County has been helping high school girls who otherwise would be unable to afford a dress attend their proms.

The Exchange has collected new and gently used prom dresses throughout the year. This year they have more than 2,000 dresses available. Two hundred dresses have come in during the past week.

Owner Cheryl Wise told me you don't have to prove need. Teenagers are welcome to come and try on dresses. If they find one, then the Exchange asks for a $10 donation. I'm told they have all sizes.

The prom dress event is this Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

There is no charge to attend the event.

If you have a dress to donate, especially sizes 14 to 28, please call Cheryl at 720-898-8388. They also take donations of shoes, purses, jewelry and any other accessories. They also need volunteers to help set up, assist and tear down for the event.

There is another prom dress event this Saturday sponsored by Dependable Cleaners. Dressed to the Nines also provides prom dresses for the young women of the Denver area. Dresses are $15 at this event, accessories are $5.

The event is Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at McMeen Elementary, 1000 S. Holly St., Denver. The money raised will benefit the Rick Wilson Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at The Children's Hospital.
