Accent Windows Files For Bankruptcy Protection

WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- Accent Windows Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday.The company has locations in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Montana and Missouri. It builds its doors and windows in Westminster, Colo.Since the downturn in the economy this year, Accent Windows has seen a decrease of 35 percent in revenue compared to 2007.
The company's largest creditor is the Internal Revenue Service, to which it owes $637,016.69, according to the Denver Business Journal.The newspaper reported Accent has between $1 million and $10 million in liabilities.In a statement to 7NEWS, Terry Marcovich, president of Accent Windows, said, "In an effort to continue to service our customers and wholesale business, we chose to file a Chapter 11, which gives us an opportunity to restructure our company in a down economy. We are confident that once the economy picks back up, Accent Windows will be positioned to prosper for many more years."Accent Windows commercials featuring former Bronco Karl Mecklenburg are often seen on local TV stations.
