(Sports Network) - Adam Wainwright threw six innings and Scott Spiezio knocked in two runs as the St. Louis Cardinals earned a 9-2 win over the Colorado Rockies in the finale of a three-game set at Busch Stadium.

Aaron Miles had three hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Cardinals, who have won three of their last four games. Wainwright (3-2) gave up two runs, one earned, and nine hits. He struck out four and walked none.

Todd Helton and Brad Hawpe each had an RBI double for Colorado, which has lost three of four.

Jason Hirsh (2-3) walked six and struck out five in four-plus innings, allowing three runs on five hits. Zach McClellan coughed up four runs and four hits in two-thirds of an inning in the sixth.

St. Louis took the lead in the second on consecutive two-out singles by Miles, Wainwright and Adam Kennedy. Chris Duncan's walk loaded the bases for Albert Pujols, who was walked to force in another run, giving the Cardinals a 2-0 edge.

Colorado cut the deficit to 2-1 in the third on Helton's one-out double to right, scoring Troy Tulowitzki who led off the frame with a single.

After Tulowitzki reached on a throwing error by Spiezio, Hawpe doubled to right-center, plating Tulowitzki and tying the contest at 2-2 in the fifth.

St. Louis, however, quickly answered with two runs in the bottom half of the frame. Spiezio led off with walk, chasing Hirsh. Alberto Arias entered in relief and immediately surrendered a double to Ryan Ludwick, scoring Spiezio. After Gary Bennett laid down a sacrifice bunt to third, Miles singled to right, plating Ludwick.

The Cardinals scored four runs, all with nobody out in the sixth. Duncan led off with a walk and Pujols singled before Jim Edmonds drove home Duncan with a single. Spiezio followed with a double, scoring Pujols and Ludwick reached on Tulowitzki's fielding error, scoring Edmonds. Bennett then grounded into a double play, scoring Spiezio.

Spiezio's RBI single in the seventh knocked in Duncan, capping the scoring.
