Way back in season one, Jack, Kate, and Locke stumble upon a cave with two skeletons inside.  They were both wearing Dharma uniforms.  Jack said that it would probably take 40 to 50 years for the fabric to decompose like that.  Locke then dubs them "our very own Adam and Eve".  So who were they? 

Given the time travel aspect of the show that has now been revealed, it's a good guess that we probably already know them.  Supposing Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Sayeed, Jin, and Juliette time travel out of 1977 because of their proximity to the blast, that could leave Rose and Bernard stuck in 1977.  Adam and Eve each had a stone in their pockets.  One was black, one was white.  It's one of Lost's most reoccurring themes.  It alludes to the "war" that is being waged on the island.  Did Adam and Eve have to choose sides, and the stones represent their loyalty?  It definitely suggests the creators of Lost have been planning how Lost would end from the very beginning.
