DENVER – Father’s Day is this weekend and if you still haven’t found that perfect gift for dad, perhaps you may want to surprise him with a special trip to some of Colorado’s best spots.
Here are some suggestions to surprise dad this Sunday:
1. Go on a hike with dad
It’s Colorado and it’s summer. What better way to spend some time with dad than by going on a hike together. You can check out some of favorites by visiting our Discover Colorado section.
2. Drive out to Glenwood Springs for a day
If dad is stressed out and you want to treat him to something chill, take him to the hot springs in Glenwood Springs. He’ll love the relaxation – and so will you!
3. Got to a Rockies game, They’ll be playing the Giants!
C’mon. You can never go wrong by bonding with dad over America’s favorite past time.
4. Go for some target shooting at Cherry Creek
Want to test your shooting skills with dad by your side on a shooting range? Head over to the Family Shooting Center for some target practice. The center will supply everything you need, but you may need to call ahead.
5. Take dad to a restaurant so he can eat for free (or cheap)
While you won’t find as many freebies for dad as you would for mom, there are some restaurants that are still offering deals for Father’s Day. You can view a full list of those deals here.
6. Rent a canoe, swim and picnic
Head over to the marina at Chatfield Reservoir or the Cherry Creek State Park and rent a canoe, swim and have a picnic with dad on the beach.
7. If your dad likes to collect things, take him to a collector’s shop
