With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it is a good reminder that some of our traditional favorites can be harmful to our pets.

Dr. Dean Vicksman with Evans East animal hospital, recommends these tips.

1. White turkey meat, carrots and green beans are ok.

2. Avoid feeding pets skin and bones.

3. Do not give dogs grapes, raisins, garlic or onions.

4. Secure the trash can.

Contact your local veterinarian if you think your pet may have come in contact with a potentially dangerous holiday treat.
