Skipping Thanksgiving at home? These 29 restaurants will be open during the holiday in Colorado

DENVER – We’re just days away from Thanksgiving and thousands of families across the nation and here in Colorado will be celebrating with loved ones gathered around a table.

But many people in Colorado won’t get a chance to travel or have their family come to the Centennial State.

Denver7 did some digging and found these restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving should your planned Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving dinner go south.

1. Applebee’s

Two entrees and an appetizer for $20 on such a busy day? Where do we sign up? Many locations will be closing early, so check hours in advance.

2. Black Angus 

Try their Thanksgiving menu ($19.95 for adults, $10.95 for kids under 12)! Hours and pricing may vary by location, and seating is limited. Dinner includes roasted turkey with a variety of sides and pumpkin pie for dessert.

3. Boston Market

Most locations are open for dine-in, but check hours to make sure you get a spot. The chain is already known for its affordability, but you can save even more on your Thanksgiving visit by joining their VIP club. 

4. Buca di Beppo 

This Italian restaurant opens at 11 a.m. and is taking reservations for lunch and dinner. Thanksgiving menu includes special items (white meat turkey, homestyle gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, spicy Italian sausage stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie), as well as Buca di Beppo’s well-known Italian dishes.

5. Cracker Barrel 

Cracker Barrel will be open during regular business hours. The restaurant is also providing Heat n’ Serve holiday family meals to take home. Available for pick-up Nov. 21 – 23 (24-hour notice is recommended).

6. Denny’s 

Denny’s will be open regular hours on Thanksgiving. And yes, they do have seasonal menu items.

7. El Torito

El Torito will be offering a three-course Thanksgiving meal or $35. Includes choice of salad, a roasted-turkey entree, various sides and choice of pie. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving. 

8. Fleming’s 

On Thanksgiving day, Fleming's will be offering a Thanksgiving Prix Fixe menu that includes a shared table appetizer, a first course of Lobster bisque or salad, a main course of turkey with cranberry, orange and cinnamon sauce and stuffing, various sides and choice of dessert. It opens at 11 a.m.

9. Golden Corral

Golden Corral is offering a Thanksgiving Day buffet, but you must call your location to find out its business hours during the holiday. 

10. IHOP

The International House of Pancakes will be open during the holiday, but hours will vary, and many locations will close early. Check your closest location for Thanksgiving hours.

11. Macaroni Grill

If you’re dining early, consider the three-course lunch option.

12. Maggiano’s

Maggiano’s is known for its family-style dining and will offer a four-course family-style dinner for Thanksgiving. Price may vary by location, so make sure to give them a call before heading out. The special Thanksgiving dine-in menu combines traditional Thanksgiving and Italian favorites. Reservations are strongly recommended.

13. McCormick & Schmick’s 

McCormick's will have a special Thanksgiving menu that includes roasted turkey and various traditional Thanksgiving sides. Contact your location for pricing.

14. Mimi’s Cafe 

Dine-in guests can enjoy a three-course turkey supper (adult meal $18.99, kids’ meal $8.99), which includes starters, the main course of roasted turkey, various sides and a choice of dessert.

15. Morton’s Steakhouse 

Opens at 1 p.m. for a steak dinner. Hours and pricing varies by location.

16. Old Country Buffet 

Open hours vary by location.

17. Ruby Tuesday

Some locations open during regular hours, serving regular menu. 

18. Souper Salad 

Some locations will be open. No special menu, but Souper Salad has some seasonal menu items.

19. Ted’s Montana Grill 

Select locations will be open for Thanksgiving Day, with a special menu. That menu includes a turkey feast (prices vary by location) that includes a soup or salad, various sides and apple pecan crisp for dessert. Regular-menu items will also be available.

20. TGI Fridays 

Some locations will be open. No special menu, but, if you want a big meal, TGI Fridays has options like the Fridays Big Ribs for $12.95. 

21. The Capital Grille 

Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., The Capital Grille will have a special Thanksgiving menu that includes slow-roasted turkey with brioche stuffing, various sides and dessert. The adult meal is $39 and the kids’ meal is $15. A regular menu is also available.

22. Waffle House 

Open at some locations with regular menu. Check hours.

23. Village Inn 

Hours vary, but some will open from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Also, pre-order pies by Nov. 14 for a chance to win free pie for a year. 

24. Departure Denver

Departure will be celebrating the holiday with an Asian-inspired Thanksgiving menu, blending non- traditional ingredients with traditional offerings. The restaurant will be open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Call ahead to reserve a spot. 

25. Kachina Southwestern Grill

The downtown Denver and Westminster locations will be offering a festive feast with a Southwestern approach. Kachina will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Their menus is $40 for adults, $12 for children. 

26. Urban Farmer

Urban Farmer Denver will be serving up a menu that captures all the warmth and happiness a stress free meal can bring. For their entrée, guests can choose from Colorado raised turkey, braised beef pie, with a beet gastrique and crème fraiche, roast prime rib, mushroom risotto and vegetarian-friendly offerings. Urban Farmer will open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Menu is $75 for adults and $25 for kids 12 and under. 

27. ViewHouse Ballpark 

For $20 you can enjoy the best of Thanksgiving at ViewHouse Ballpark and ViewHouse Littleton. Both locations will be offering a “Thanksgiving Plated Special” to include rosemary- thyme roasted turkey breast, herbed brioche stuffing, cranberry marmalade, buttered green beans, two corn- on the cob wheels, and mashed potatoes with a creamy peppercorn gravy. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. until close. 

28. ViewHouse Centennial

ViewHouse Centennial will be offering two different options for those who like to celebrate Thanksgiving at any time of the day by way of an all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving brunch buffet & dinner buffet. The brunch buffet starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. Dinner starts at 2 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m. $36.95 for adults and $9.95 for children 12 and under; free for children 5 and under. 

29. Thanksgiving at the Downtown Denver Aquarium

The Downtown Denver Aquarium will be hosting a delicious buffet on Thanksgiving, with seating times beginning at 10 a.m., featuring a variety of over 40 menu items. With the purchase of a buffet ticket, guests will receive a 50 percent discount of the Adventure Exhibit ticket and validated parking.
