DENVER – Black Friday is one of the busiest days of the year, everyone pretty much knows this. But did you know that the day after Thanksgiving is among the busiest for plumbers as well?

“We find a lot of peels in there,” said Josh Danielson of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. “A lot of times people will put all types of food in there: cranberries, turkey, all that stuff pushed down in drains and, sometimes, people put their bones down there, too.”

So what should you do with those items?

Use an actual garbage can or compost to get rid of them.

Danielson said you should not use your garbage disposal for “anything you can get off your plate”

So avoid putting bones, peels of any sort, or even harsh chemicals down the sink.
