DENVER - The American Heart Association and Denver7 are getting ready for the annual Go Red for Women Luncheon in Denver.
The national campaign raises awareness about heart disease and strokes in women and inspires them to take charge of their heart health.
Organizers and volunteers hope women take action to lower their risk for heart issues. So far, the A.H.A. says more than 900,000 women have joined the cause, with more than 1,200 of those women in Colorado. Ninety-one percent of women involved in Go Red for Women also visit their doctor more than those who aren't involved, according to the organization.
The luncheon is happening next Friday, November 13, at the Grand Hyatt Denver on Welton Street. Our own Dayle Cedars will emcee the event. You can connect with health experts and learn heart-healthy lifestyles. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. and the event runs through 3:30 p.m. Don't forget to show your support by wearing red.
